Rugged Durability of Soteria Technology Shown in Drone Flight After Damage
High-energy NMC 811 pouch cells continue to demonstrate excellent safety results. Soteria attached  a three-cell battery to a drone after nail penetration to highlight the technology’s life after damage effect. The battery survived the abuse and powered the drone seamlessly.

Impressive Overcharge & Nail Penetration Results Highlight Enhanced Safety

High-energy pouch cells demonstrated excellent safety in overcharge conditions. These NMC 811 cells with the Soteria aluminum current collector exhibited venting, without flame or explosion, achieving a EUCAR Level 4. Control cells with standard foils quickly went into thermal runaway, demonstrating a EUCAR Level 7 (worst possible) performance.
Under nail penetration, the difference in thermal runaway response was even more drastic as the control cells immediately erupted in flames, while the Soteria cells remained completely stable.

Soteria Overview & Values

This overview presentation, given at the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School's Aspire Conference in October 2018, outlines the Soteria mission:

To eliminate fires in all lithium batteries, forever.

Watch our CEO, Brian Morin, discuss our material architecture and business model here.
